Welcome to Medellín, the City of Eternal Spring! The capital of Colombia’s Mountainous Antioquia province, the views on arrival are stunning. We’ll make our way to the elegantly modern York Luxury Suites Medellín, located in the exclusive El Poblado area.

Check-in is at 3 p.m. You’ll have the afternoon free before we all meet up for a briefing and delectable Welcome Dinner at the hotel’s acclaimed Nomade restaurant. Afterwards, you may want to check out the Ze View rooftop, known for its varied cocktail menu.

People are drawn to the York Luxury Suites Medellín for its spacious, modern rooms that feel like a home away from home. The rooftop pool offers sweeping views of the city and mountains, making it a perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring. Following breakfast, we head out for a half-day tour of this stunning city. We start at Plaza Botero, home to the famous sculptures by artist Fernando Botero, followed by a visit to the Antioquia Museum. We’ll get in among the locals as we try out the city’s transport system with a ride on the Metro and Metro Cable, enjoying panoramic views of Medellín. Explore the inspiring history of the neighborhood known as Comuna 13. So colorful! It is known for its urban art and electric escalators.

Lunch will be at the amazing Hato Viejo. This well-known restaurant heads up the list of the top 5 places to eat well in Medellín. Serving up simple and delicious style authentic Colombian food with mesmerizing ambiance in the heart of the city.

We’ll return to the hotel for a free afternoon and evening.

Fortify yourself at breakfast because we have a full day ahead of us as we leave Medellin for the charming town of Fredonia in Coffee Country. Located in the coffee region of southwest Antioquia, it is about two hours from the city. Along the way, we’ll enjoy spectacular mountain and coffee plantation views.

Our destination is a traditional coffee farm where we can immerse ourselves in the fascinating world of Colombian coffee. The tour begins with a walk through the crops, where we'll learn about the coffee growing and harvesting process, interacting with local farmers who share their knowledge and traditions. We'll see firsthand how the coffee bean goes through each stage, from planting to harvesting, and ultimately to processing and roasting. Of course, the payoff is when we finally enjoy a coffee tasting, discovering aromas that make coffee from this region some of the best in the world and retail therapy to bring it home.

We’ll also enjoy a delicious traditional lunch made with fresh, local ingredients.

Our journey continues as we head to the heart of the coffee region and the historic town of Circasia, surrounded by the majestic Quindío Mountains. Circasia’s storied town center was made part of the "Coffee Cultural Landscape" UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2011.

Once there, we’ll check into the incomparable Bio Habitat Hotel and Spa. Located in 40 acres of forest at the top of a mountain, it is designed to be in harmony with the surrounding natural environment. Each room is elevated between native trees and plants, surrounded by various species of birds and set by the sound of pure nature.

Today is about feeding your mind and soul. After breakfast, we enjoy a 45-minute morning yoga session to connect with the mind, body and spirit. Begin with a brief meditation to center your mind and connect with your breath, followed by a series of postures (asanas) that promote flexibility, strength, and balance in the body. The practice ends with a relaxation moment, allowing you to release tension and find inner peace.

Much of the day is yours to enjoy the gorgeous grounds and a menu of treatments and experiences on your own. In the afternoon, each of us will enjoy an  hour of  Deep Tissue Massage. This therapy is focused on relieving muscle pain caused by increased tension. Through stretching and firm, deep, and steady pressure, muscle knots are released, restoring physical balance to your body.

Our evening is free to relax and unwind.

   This morning, we travel to the natural paradise that is Santa Rosa de Cabal Hot Springs for a half day visit and more pampering. We immerse ourselves in mineral-rich thermal waters surrounded by breathtaking mountainous landscapes. We have access to various pools of different temperatures, perfect for revitalizing our bodies and relieving stress. We’ll be treated to lunch at the springs

In the afternoon, we head back to the Bio Habitat to enjoy a 120-minute Deep Hydration with Aloe Vera. Inspired by the emollient, regenerating, and renewing powers of aloe vera for skin revitalization, this treatment allows us to be immersed in bath salts and calendula to enter a state of consciousness and calm. Enjoy the benefits of aloe vera crystals with a facial mask and body wrap, applied with relaxing massage techniques.

Our evening is again free to take in these stunning surroundings.

We’ll leave this haven behind after breakfast to head to the El Edén Airport in Armenia to fly to Cartagena. (Flight is extra. Group flight will be added once routes come out in January.)

After dropping our luggage at the Intercontinental Hotel in the heart of Cartagena, we’ll enjoy a city tour to discover the rich history and architectural beauty of this amazing city. We’ll explore the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Historic Center, with its colorful cobblestone streets and majestic colonial buildings, including the iconic Clock Tower and San Pedro Claver Church. We continue to San Felipe de Barajas Castle, enjoying breathtaking city views and learning about its strategic importance, followed by a visit to the Convent of La Popa for unbeatable panoramas.

Wellness treatment, massaging back and shoulders with soothing chocolate for an ultimate relaxation experience

When we return to the hotel, we’re in for another wellness treat with a Sublime Premium Spa Chocolate Therapy! This unique two-hour experience begins with an exfoliation to prepare your skin for a cocoa-based hydration treatment, which boosts collagen and elastin in your skin. Accompanied by a relaxing massage to help relieve tension and relax the mind.

Our evening is free and my how this city comes to life after dusk. You're tempting choices are endless.

Overnight: Cartagena at Intercontinental (3 Nights) - Staying at the Intercontinental Cartagena is like upgrading your entire vacation. The ocean views are unreal—you wake up to the Caribbean right outside your window. The hotel’s pool is massive, perfect for cooling off after a day exploring the Old City.

You’re only minutes away from Cartagena’s best restaurants and nightlife, but it’s quiet enough at night that you actually get some sleep. The staff go out of their way to make you feel at home, whether you need a restaurant tip or a last-minute room service snack. Plus, the whole place feels brand new, spotless, and super safe—so you can just relax and enjoy the city.

We start early today so we can fully enjoy our visit to Islas Del Rosario. The Rosario Islands are located about an hour by boat southwest of Cartagena. Consisting of 31 islands amid coral reefs, we’ll be able to explore their clear waters, rich with maritime life such as dolphins.

There is so much to experience! Relax on the beach, swim in the turquoise waters, and explore the rich marine biodiversity through optional activities such as snorkeling and kayaking. We’ll enjoy a delicious beach lunch at a local restaurant, serving regional dishes.

After returning to the hotel, we have time to freshen up to head for our Farewell dinner at Cande Restaurant. Located in a beautiful colonial house in the heart of the historic center. This is an elegant, plant-filled venue for traditional regional cuisine alongside regular live entertainment which offers the experience of understanding the daily life of this centennial Colombian city through our five senses, highlighting its dances and a select repertoire of live music that recalls the history and spirit of the colonial era.

After breakfast at the hotel, it’s time to say “Chau” to Colombia. We’ll help arrange pickups and transfers back to the Rafael Nuñez Airport for their return flight home.  (Some may want to extend time in Cartagena and visit the messy fun at mud volcano which our past groups loved.
